Master’s (1999) and Doctorate (2003) in Acoustics and Vibrations by Mechanical Engineering of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). He currently serves as a professor at the department of Mechanical Engineering at UFSC. He has experience and research on the following subjects: sound quality of environments; assessment of exposure to industrial, vehicular and environmental noise; noise and vibration control in buildings, hearing protection and impulsive noise.

He holds a PhD in Acoustics from McGill University in Canada (2008). He holds a bachelor’s degree (2001) and a master’s degree (2004) in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). He is an adjunct professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering at UFSC. He is a member of the American Society of Acoustics and technical reviewer of the following newspapers: Journal of Computational Physics, Journal of the Acoustical Society of America and Journal of the Brazilian Society of Engineering and Mechanical Sciences. He has experience in Mechanical Engineering, with emphasis on Acoustics and Vibrations, acting mainly on topics related to aeroacoustics, numerical methods and control of vibrations and noise.

Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Federal University of Santa Catarina (SC, Brazil) and researcher at the Laboratory of Vibrations and Acoustics of UFSC. Degree from the Technical University of Berlin (Technische Universität Berlin). Undergraduate diploma recognized as a Mechanical Engineer from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Acoustics and Vibrations) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. He has experience in acoustics and vibrations, working mainly on the following topics: acoustics, vibroacoustics, assistive technologies for hearing, evaluation of noise and vibration, noise vibration harshness, sound transmission in structures, psychoacoustics, sound quality and signal analysis, transport system acoustics, environmental acoustics, instrumentation in acoustics and vibrations, noise control.

He is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. He has experience in Mechanical Engineering, with emphasis on Solid Mechanics. Júlio Apolinário Cordioli

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in 2000 and phD in Mechanical Engineering from UFSC in 2006. Part of his doctorate was carried out with the University of Cambridge – England. Worked as a noise and vibration engineer at EMBRAER (2000-2001) and as a researcher in numerical methods applied to acoustics and vibrations by ESI Group – USA (2007-2008), where he was also responsible for the development of VA One software. In 2009 and 2010 he served as Visiting Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering of UFSC, where he is currently a permanent professor. His main interests include: numerical methods in acoustics and vibrations; noise and vibration analysis in aircraft; hearing aids, piezoelectric transducers and underwater acoustics.
